1 Peter 1:3–9
Have you ever looked at something happening in your life and asked, “God, what are You doing with this?”
We often see the disappointment, the loss, the closed door, or the unanswered question. But God sees what we cannot yet see. In 1 Peter 1:3–9, Peter reminds hurting believers that their trials do not mean God has abandoned them. Even in difficult seasons, God is at work.
Peter points us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, an inheritance that cannot fade away, and the assurance that we are kept by the power of God. Our trials can test and refine our faith, just as gold is tested by fire.
There will be times when we cannot see God’s plan or understand His purposes. Faith does not mean that we understand everything. Faith means we trust God even when we do not understand.
The trial is not the end of the story. The fire is not the end. God is still working, Jesus is still our hope, and our story is moving toward something greater than what we can presently see.
Whatever your “this” is today, keep trusting, keep believing, and keep following Jesus.
There’s glory in this.
