Sara is a grateful believer in Jesus Christ who struggles with worry and grief. Her story is one of deep love, profound loss, and unwavering faith.

After 20 years of marriage, Sara’s first husband died suddenly of cardiac arrest. Years later, after remarrying and stepping into ministry alongside her second husband, she faced another devastating diagnosis: cancer. Following a long and exhausting battle filled with treatments, setbacks, and prayer, he too passed away. By age 47, Sara had been widowed twice.

In the midst of compounded grief, trauma, and even PTSD-related sleep struggles, Sara discovered what Celebrate Recovery teaches so clearly: we are powerless. Powerless over death. Powerless over illness. Powerless over outcomes. And yet not without hope.

Rather than collapsing under the weight of loss, Sara learned to rely on Christ in a deeper way than ever before. Faith became more than belief. It became daily surrender. Celebrate Recovery provided a safe place to admit weakness, process grief, and stand again.

Her message is simple and powerful: do not stay down. You may be knocked down by addiction, trauma, grief, or loss. But with Jesus, you can stand.

Through every chapter, Sara’s greatest love story has been her relationship with Christ. And it is that steady, unchanging love that continues to carry her forward.
