Names matter. In Scripture, names reveal identity, authority, and character. Throughout the Bible, God is known by many names that reveal who He is, but the name above every name is Jesus. In Acts 3, Peter and John encounter a man who had been lame from birth. When asked for money, Peter responds with something far greater: the power of Christ. In that moment, the man’s life was completely transformed.
“I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” – Acts 3:6 (ESV)
This miracle reminds us that the power is not in a word or formula, but in the person of Jesus Christ Himself. His name represents His authority, His salvation, and His ability to change lives. The same name that healed the beggar still has the power to lift, save, and transform lives today. (Pastor Chris Crabtree)
