In 1 Timothy 6, Paul reminds believers that faith is not something to treat casually. The love of money and the cravings of this world have caused many to wander from the faith and pierce themselves with many sorrows. But the call of God is different: flee what is evil, pursue what is righteous, and fight the good fight of faith.

A faith worth fighting for is a faith that runs from wickedness and pursues righteousness. It understands that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual darkness. It values eternal life over temporary gain, holy living over compromise, and the glory of God over the approval of the world. Paul later said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” That should be the desire of every believer: to treasure the faith, guard it, live it, and finish well.
